ASDC has been designated as a Host Institution in the UT System Shared Data Centers Program. UT System Affiliate Institutions who would like benefit from the program are required to complete two pieces of documentation. A BAA/MOU with UT System and an SLA with the Host Institution. In the fall of 2016, ASDC gained Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Physical Security Compliance Approval from the UT Austin Information Security Office (ISO) and UT Austin UT Austin Vice President for Legal Affairs, Jeff Graves.

All customers who use the data center can rest assured that all compliance procedures--physical and security measures--as well as training to store HIPAA data on premises are in place.

Austin Shared Data Center has established minimum standards for equipment that can be accommodated in its facility. System standards are necessary to help customers purchase equipment that meets their business needs, takes full advantage of the facility, accounts for the facility maintenance schedule, and conforms to the constraints of the facility.
